ANDREA GATOPOULOS

Artistic Director

Born in Pescara (Abruzzo, Italy) in 1994. He is the founder of the production company Il Varco, with which he has produced 11 shorts and 2 feature films. He’s the art director of Il Varco – International Short Film Festival, choosen by Filmfreeway among the Top 100 festivals in the world, and he’s also the creator of Short Days and New Abruzzi Cinema. His productions were featured in more than 100 festivals around the world.

MARCO CRISPANO

Festival Producer

Born in Pescara (Abruzzo, Italy) in 1994, he is a painter and film producer. He is the co-founder of Il Varco, which he administers, and the creator of Prisma Art Prize, a quarterly painting award in Rome.

Stefano Chiavarini

Marina Rossi

Designer

Born in Piombino in the province of Livorno. She’s a graphic designer, graduated in Graphic Design & Multimedia at the LABA Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, specializing in branding & restyling. She has worked in creative studios in Florence, Rome, York and Leeds as a graphic designer, photographer and creative assistant for multimedia artists and directors, interfacing with the world of marketing, communication, art and events. He is currently in charge of the design and branding of Il Varco, a film production company in Rome.

ANTONIO ROMAGNOLI

Programmer

After his studies in Humanities in classical high schools, he graduated in Arts and sciences of performance at Sapienza Università di Roma. He worked as a film critic from 2013 to 2016 with “icinemaniaci”, awarded best cinema critic website in 2014. He works at Il Varco cinema as editorial supervisor and published works of poetry and fiction with their publishing house. In 2016 he shot “Memories of a traveller”. His first feature film “Polvere” is coming soon. In 2019 he shoots his second short, “Inutile al mondo”.

Alessandro Zolfanelli

Programmer

He is a sculptor and director. After graduating in History and Techniques of Cinema at Roma Tre University in Rome, he moved to Berlin for two years, working on various short film as assistant director, including Lilian Sassanelli’s “Im Bären”, David di Donatello finalist in 2019. After moving back to Rome, he organized an independent sculpture exhibition with his Berlin work and started writing his first stop-motion short film, “Black Eyed Dog”, that is currently in production. He collaborates with Il Varco since 2019 as a programmer and sculptor of their various film festivals prizes.
