Show us how future cinema is written
Il Varco Film Fest, twice in FilmFreeway Top 100 in 2019 and 2020, proposes the second edition of its script competition with the goal of highlighting the best projects of the future, hoping to boost their chances of being shot.
The competition
The competition is open to International Feature and Short Screenplays written in English and Italian Feature and Short Screenplays written in italian. We will select 5 finalists for the international screenplays categories, and 5 finalists for the italian screenplays category. Finalists will participate in a pitching workshop offered by Readmyscript and dossier design workshop offered by Fedrahub. Their dossier and their pitch will be sent to the jury for the evaluation and we will select one winner for each category.
Awards and prizes
With $1000 cash prizes and $23000 prizes in services for both international and italian projects, we aim to give support and credibility to screenplays that have not found production yet and that are looking for a jump-start to their projects. We are sponsored by Final Draft, leading the market in screenwriting software for 25 years.
Workshops
Finalist screenwriters will participate in two free workshop hosted by FEDRAhub and Readymyscript that will go through the dossier design and pitch deck presentation of the script to the jury panel.
