The third edition of “Il Varco – International Short Film Festival” will take place in Pescara in may 2019 and it is meant for directors and producers of any age and nationality that have produced a short after 1/1/2016. There is no minimum duration and the maximum duration is very extended. Tell your story without being afraid of the limitations of most festivals. Our goal is to discover and promote new authorial cinematographic visions through the language of short film. Awards to Best Direction, Best Screenplay, Best Direction of Photography, Best Original Score, Best Editing, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best productions. There are some very easy rules. Jurors are among the masters of italian cinema: Marco Spoletini – David di Donatello best Editing 2009 for Gomorra – will give the prize for best Editing; Daniele Ciprì – David di Donatello best Cinematography 2010 for Vincere – will give prize for best Cinematographer; Paolo Bogna – David di Donatello nominee for best Producer for Non Essere Cattivo; Elisabetta De Vito – David di Donatello nominee for best Actress for Non Essere Cattivo; – Will give the prize for best Actress; Saverio La Ruina – UBU Prize Best Italian Actor – Will give prize for Best Actor; Antonio Cericola – Composer and orchestra directors in Athens Olympic Games – Will give the prize for best Original Score; Lorenzo Berghella – SIAE Best Talent at Venice Film Festival – Will give the prize for Best Director; Antonio Romagnoli – Director and writer – Will give the prize for best Screenplay e Andrea Gatopoulos – Producer and artistic director of Il Varco – will give the honorable mention for experimental cinema.
For the first time in Italy we will have a jurors of independent directors made from the previously selected directors in our festival. Directors that will get selected this year will join them. Jurors from this board will participate to a live and broadcasted roundtable in which they will discuss forms and languages of short film.

Last edition of our festival was a huge success: screening on a big, marvelous screen in a screening room full of spectators, with big guests. We really select films from a new generation of authors. Directors that got selected later saw their films awarded in big festivals. You will be able to show your film in max quality. We will prepare the DCP files for the projection.
